Cobra Updates?

Lots of major Jaguar surgery, but not much Cobra I'm afraid.  I did walk past it yesterday and thought it could do with a wash as it's got very dusty.  What idiot chose black?  Note to self - remember to shut workshop door when angle-grinding...

Pretend it's a Cobra.  Today in the workshop:

20ga steel small repair patch fabricated for front base of OSR wing, using forming dolly, hammers and flipper and flange shrinker, tacked into place:

Butt-welded with MIG and gapped to B-post.  New B-post panels spot-welded in place earlier:

Took a day off from Jag metal bashing and finally got around to making a rear hub puller for the Cobra.

This device picks up on the upper leafspring pin and the lower wishbone pin locations on the rear hub upright, and will take a Sykes-Pickavant 12-ton hydraulic press to push the rear hub shaft out of its bearings in the upright.  Should save me having to cut off the disc to access the bearing housing, like I did last time...

Why are you having to dismantle it again Roger?

Considering how much care you put into building it, you do seem to spend a disproportionate amount of time taking it apart again. 🤔😁

I'm not taking it apart.

I've made a hub puller so that if I ever need to, I'll have the kit to do it.  Like a good boy scout, Be Prepared!  Which I wasn't last time I had to remove a wheel bearing.
